The municipality of Sagua de Tánamo starts with the intervention of the Abdala vaccination candidate in risk groups, specifically with health workers, students of medical sciences and other vulnerable people.
In the first stage, the three doses of Abdala are expected to be applied to 1963 people, 300 of whom are medical students. In the municipality, 2 vaccination points were opened at the Jorge Fernández Arderí Polyclinic and the Casa del Abuelo, where 10 doctors per specialty work, 5 at each point, and 12 nurses, 6 at each vaccination point, all duly prepared according to good practices. The average number of vaccinations per day is 100 people and there are 3 doses of the anti-COVID 19 Abdala vaccine candidate to be injected, the first one and then at 14 and 28 days.
Measures are taken for compliance in each of these vaccination points where the pharmaceutical product will be supplied, with prior informed consent and in compliance with the products of inclusion. A work monitoring team is formed by several specialists to guarantee the good work and effectiveness in this important task. The vaccinatories were certified by the province of Holguin, according to the protocol established by the regulatory agencies.
